art is not to accept the world as given and filling it with something that didn't exist before.
i've been thinking this way publicly for months, before this brief existed.
“art is the only universal language.” april 26
“the way to be immortal is through creation.” april 22
“in creation, everything is just what feels good to you.” april 16
“art comes with pride. art comes from pain.” april 2
“you consume art but save hustle.” march 31
this document unified what i was already working through. if you want to see how i think unfiltered: @swapnilsdream
i like to create things,
strike conversations,
and illuminate the world.
these aren't separate. they're the same skill applied to different problems. the idea picks the medium.
you can nail the visuals and lose half the impact if the sound is generic. great work demands every element justify itself. if it's not pulling weight, cut it.
five people whose work i study and pull from.
what i take: saying less to communicate more.
what i'd use: if it needs explaining, the visuals failed.
what i take: using pacing to control attention.
what i'd use: let the cuts carry the emotion, not the music.
what i take: making environment do the storytelling.
what i'd use: negative space is content, not filler.
what i take: using visual inconsistency as a storytelling tool.
what i'd use: style shifts as information, not decoration.
what i take: knowing what to remove.
what i'd use: if removing it doesn't hurt, it shouldn't be there.
